About the Senior QA Engineer Position
RUBICON is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior QA Engineer who can establish and lead quality assurance processes within a high-performing engineering team. You’ll be responsible for defining QA best practices, mentoring team members, and ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards.
In this role, you’ll design and implement test strategies, oversee both manual and automated testing processes, and help shape the company’s QA roadmap. You’ll play a key part in building scalable QA systems that support our continued growth.
Key Responsibilities


Establish, document, and continuously improve QA engineering processes and best practices


Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and automation scripts


Design and implement testing frameworks suitable for web and mobile applications


Plan, execute, and manage comprehensive test strategies including manual and regression testing


Analyze and report software defects, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up


Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure quality is built into every stage of development


Review requirements and specifications to identify edge cases and potential quality risks


Track, analyze, and communicate key quality metrics to stakeholders


Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA team members


Drive release readiness for mobile applications, including app store submission validation, crash monitoring setup, and post-release quality tracking.


Requirements


Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing


Proficient in project management and collaboration tools such as Jira


Proven experience in setting up and managing QA processes in agile environments


Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and lifecycle management


Practical experience testing mobile applications (Android and/or iOS)


Hands-on experience with:



Android Debug Bridge (adb), MacOS Console or XCode debugger


Proxy tools such as CharlesProxy


API testing tools (e.g., Postman)


API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger)



Experience with data-intensive projects, performance testing, and data validation


Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail


Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills


Fluent in English


Nice-to-Have


Experience with automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Appium)


Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration


Experience mentoring or leading QA engineers


Knowledge of app distribution and release processes (App Store Connect, Google Play Console, TestFlight, internal app stores).
